Onboarding: Site Transition

The Site Transition is the milestone meeting where the Onboarder officially hands the website off to the customer for their QA and content entry, and soon to follow: launch.

Requirements

Once the website is 100% production grade and built to scope, with all pages, templates, functionalities and apps fully tested, and Onboarder and Nyla QA have been passed, it's is ready for its official Site Transition.

Site Transition requires the customer to have completed their Site Management Training. If training units are not completed in time, the Onboarder will have reschedule the Site Transition for when the training is complete.

The Onboarder will have Handover Materials ready for the customer at the Site Transition.

Meeting

There are two keys parts of the Site Transition meeting; site management review and launch preparation.

Site Management Review

As customers have completed training, they are entering their Customer Phase with an understanding of Nyla site management. However, each website has unique templates and specific requests, and the Site Transition meeting is a chance for the Onboarder to ensure the customer fully understands how to use their unique Nyla site.

In preparation for the meeting, the Onboarder will prep Handover Materials to review on the call. The goal of this is to ensure that the customer can run their next deliverables; QA and content entry.

Launch Preparation

The Onboarder will define timeframes for customer QA and content entry, backing into the confirmed launch date.

They'll also share launch instructions, which can be found in these docs:

Customer DNS provider access must be provided two weeks before launch to ensure a smooth transition.

Launches should be scheduled on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays provided there is no US Federal Holiday in the day after the launch, and launch approval is required;

  • From the customer, in writing, to the Onboarder.
  • Once received, the Onboarder must alert Nyla by 3p EST the business day before launch.
