GA4

Send events to GA4 using Nyla native tagging

Nyla's native GA4 support sends events to Google Analytics 4. It works in conjunction with Shopify's reporting and supports Google's consent mode:

  • The Nyla tagging will send events from the site up to checkout
  • Shopify's GA4 integration sends checkout/conversion events to GA4

In order to have conversion tracking working, you must have your Shopify GA4 integration set up.

Activating GA4:

In order to activate GA4 reporting on your Nyla site:

Here's a screen recording showing how to locate your GA4 Measurement ID and add it into Nyla:

NOTE: Ensure that Shopify GA4 reporting is also set up

Once you have done the above, events should fire to Google Analytics.

Important:

  • Make sure you also have Shopify's GA4 reporting activated so that checkout events are reported
  • It's possible to use configure your own GA4 reporting via GTM using Nyla's data layer, or a third party service such as Elevar. If you are using a separate method of reporting to GA4 make sure Nyla's native GA4 is deactivated to avoid double reporting events.
