Onboarding: Catalog Architecture Review

A review of the customer’s Shopify architecture, detailing site set up and management.

✅ Process

This review can be managed however the Onboarder sees fit;

  • asynchronously, by gathering the information and sharing it with the customer to confirm
  • on a call, to speak through the catalog architecture with the customer in real time

 

There are two components to this information gathering; a Shopify audit and a customer questionnaire.

 

Shopify Audit

The Onboarder should gather the following information from the customer's Shopify. Nyla provides a worksheet below, or the information can be gathered manually.

  • Catalog size: count of published & unpublished products
  • Product Option Analysis
    • current maximum number of product options supported per product
    • most common option count
    • swatches
  • Product Type
  • Metafields
  • Collection Count
  • Compare-At Pricing
  • Bestselling Products

Once gathered, the above information should be confirmed with the customer.

 

Questionnaire

The Onboarder can send the Catalog Architecture Questionnaire (see below) asynchronously, or review in real time with the customer, as long as the information is collected for Design and Build phases.
